Luzerne Borough is no longer providing trash pick-up. It is the responsibility of the Luzerne Borough Resident to contact a Private Hauler of their choice for the removal of their trash.

Yard Waste

Monday Collection – Luzerne Borough Yard Waste will continue to be collected on Mondays for those Residents who had purchased a “Yard Waste Sticker” at the cost of $30.00 from Gerrity’s. Attached stub must be completed in full and dropped off at the Borough Building. Sticker must be viewable to the Luzerne Borough DPW workers. Yard Waste must be placed in open containers or paper leaf bags. Both containers and paper bags should not exceed 30lbs. Plastic Trash Bags are strictly prohibited. Brush must be tied in bundles no longer than three (3) feet in length. Grass Clippings must be dry and free of animal feces. Yard Waste should be curbside by 6:00 a.m. All pickups are weather permitting and may be delayed one day should a holiday occur.

Mondays – Open containers & Paper Bags Only. Wednesdays – vacuum collection – for leaves raked curbside (no containers or bags). *This service is available to all
Residents. Leaf Collection starts in the Fall and is posted under Community News in the local newspapers and on Luzerne Borough Residents Facebook Page.
Street Sweeping
Street Sweeping is currently being done on a street-to-street basis in conjunction with Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority.
