Luzerne Borough is no longer accepting new customers or renewals. It is the responsibility of the Luzerne Borough Resident to contact a Private Hauler of their choice for the removal of their trash. There are NO stickers being sold at the Borough Building.
Luzerne Borough Trash Hauler – County Waste – for those Residents that renewed their window garbage sticker for January 2023 to June 30th, 2023 and registered their garbage stub with the Borough, you may call 800-832-1332 – choose Mountaintop from their phone directory for customer service. The Luzerne Borough Secretary does not handle Garbage.

Monday Collection – Luzerne Borough Street Department Yard Waste Collection starts in Spring – weather permitting and is a service for Residents who have a valid Borough “County Waste” Garbage Window Sticker. Starting dates are posted under Community News in the local newspapers and on Luzerne Borough Residents Facebook Page. Yard Waste must be placed in open containers or paper leaf bags. Both containers and paper bags should not exceed 30lbs. Plastic Trash Bags are strictly prohibited. Brush must be tied in bundles no longer than three (3) feet in length. Grass Clippings must be dry and free of animal feces. Yard Waste should be curbside by 6:00 a.m. All pickups are weather permitting and may be delayed one day should a holiday occur.

Street Sweeping is currently being done on a street to street basis in conjunction with Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority.
